Fibonacci in nature : The bee ancestry code

Fibonacci numbers also appear in the description of the reproduction of a population of idealized honeybees, according to the following rules:

  • If an egg is laid by an unmated female, it hatches a male or drone bee.
  • If, however, an egg was fertilized by a male, it hatches a female.
Thus, a male bee will always have one parent, and a female bee will have two.

If one traces the ancestry of any male bee (1 bee), he has 1 parent (1 bee), 2 grandparents, 3 great-grandparents, 5 great-great-grandparents, and so on. This sequence of numbers of parents is the Fibonacci sequence.

Between faith and prayer

'Is there anything more important than prayer?' a disciple asked his teacher.
The teacher told the disciple to go to a nearby tree and cut off a branch. The disciple obeyed.
'Is the tree still alive?' asked the teacher.
'As alive as it was before.'
'Then go over there and slice through its roots.'
'If I do that, the tree will die.'
'Prayers are the branches of a tree whose roots are called Faith,' said the teacher. 'Faith can exist without prayer, but prayer cannot exist without faith.'

Smart Choice.

Every day Nasrudin went to beg for alms in the market, and people used to make fun of him by playing the following trick: they would show him two coins, one worth ten times more than the other, and Nasrudin would always choose the smaller coin.

The story went round the whole province. Day after day, groups of men and women would show him the two coins, and Nasrudin would always choose the smaller one.

Then one day, a generous man, tired of seeing Nasrudin ridiculed in this fashion, beckoned him over to a corner of the square and said:

'When they offer you two coins, you should choose the larger one. That way you would earn more money and people wouldn't consider you an idiot.'

'That sounds like good advice,'
replied Nasrudin, 'but if I chose the larger coin, people would stop offering me money, because they like to believe that I am even more stupid than they are. You've no idea how much money I've earned using this trick. There's nothing wrong with looking like a fool if, in fact, you're being really clever.'

Rebuilding the world.

A father was trying to read the newspaper, but his little son kept pestering him. Finally, the father grew tired of this and, tearing a page from the newspaper - one that bore a map of the world - he cut it into several pieces and handed them to his son.
'Right, now you've got something to do. I've given you a map of the world and I want to see if you can put it back together correctly.'
He resumed his reading, knowing that the task would keep the child occupied for the rest of the day. However, a quarter of an hour later, the boy returned with the map.
'Has your mother been teaching you geography?' asked his father in astonishment.
'I don't even know what that is,' replied the boy. 'But there was a photo of a man on the other side of the page, so I put the man back together and found I'd put the world back together too.'

HaMein Chahiye Tha Milna…

Yeh Haseen Shaam Apni,
Abhi Jis men Ghul Rahi Hai,
Tere Pairahan Ki Khushbu
Abhi Jis men Khil rahe Hain
Mere Khwab Ke Shagoofey,
Zara Dair Ka Hai Manzar..
Zara Dair Me Ufaq Pe
Khilega Koi Sitara,
Teri Simt Dekh Kar Wo
Karega Koi Ishara..
Tere Dil ko Aayega Phir
Kisi Yaad Ka Bulawa,
Koi Qissa-e-judai,
Koi Kaar-E-Naa-mukammal..
Koi Khwaab-e-naashagufta,
Koi Baat Kehne Wali..
Hamein Chahiye Tha Milna
Kisi ehd-e-meherbaan Mein..
Kisi Khwab Ke Yaqeen Mein,
Kisi Aur Aasman Par
Kisi Aur Sarzameen Mein,
HaMein Chahiye Tha Milna…

English Translation:
We ought to have met
A melting twilight,
the world in its entirety dissolves.
The scent of you,
the blossoming
populations of dreams.
All dissolves.. … a vision deferred.

In a while,
a star shall emerge on the horizon,
to gaze at you,
replete with meaning,
[And] your heart shall then reminisce,
there shall be an echo of a memory,
the tale of a separation,
of an unfinished moment,
of dreams unborn,
thoughts unsaid.

We ought to have met,
in another time,
in pursuit of attainable dreams,
below a different sky,
upon a different earth,
We ought to have met then, there.

I've tried my best

dedicated to my 2 best friends

I've tried my best to let go of you, But I dont want to

I shouldnt love you but I want to
I just cant turn away
I shouldnt see you but I cant move
I cant look away

I shouldnt love you but I want to
I just cant turn away
I shouldnt see you but I cant move
I cant look away

And I dont know how to be fine when Im not
Cause I dont know how to make a feeling stop

Just so you know
This feelings taking control of me
And I cant help it
I wont sit around, I cant let him win now
Thought you should know
Ive tried my best to let go of you
But I dont want to
I just gotta say it all
Before I go
Just so you know

Its getting hard to be around you
Theres so much I cant say
Do you want me to hide the feelings
And look the other way

And I dont know how to be fine when Im not
Cause I dont know how to make a feeling stop

This emptiness is killing me
And Im wondering why Ive waited so long
Looking back I realize
It was always there just never spoken
Im waiting here...been waiting here

Hum jo tareek raahon mein maare gaye !!

Tere honton ke phoolon kii chahat mein hum

Daar ki khushk tehni pe waare gaye

Tere haaton ki sham’on ki hasrat mein hum

Neem tareek raahon mein maare gaye

Qatl-gaahon se chun kar humara alam

Aur nikleinge ushaaq ke qaafle

Jin ke raah-e-talab se humare qadam

Mukhtasar kar chale dard ke faasle

Kar chale jin ki khaatir jahan geer hum

Jaan gunwa kar teri dilbari ka bharam

Hum jo tareek raahon mein maare gaye !!

Khawabon ka bharam toot gaya . . .

Apney bister pe buhut dair se mein neem daraz

Sochti thi ke woh iss waqt kahan par ho gaa?

Mein yahan hoon magar uss koocha-e-rang-o-boo mein…….
Roz ki tarha say woh aaj bhi aya ho gaa

Aur jab uss ne wahan mujh ko naa paya ho gaa...........
Aap ko ilm hay,woh aaj nahin aai hain?
Meri har dost se uss ne yahi poocha hogaa
Kiyoon nahin aai woh? Kiya baat hui hay aakhir?

Khud iss baat par so baar woh uljha ho gaa
Kal woh aaiey gee tu mein uss se nahin boloon gaa
Aap he aap kai baar wo rootha ho gaa
Woh nahin hay tu bulandi ka safar kitna kaathan

Seerhiyaan charhtey huey uss ne socha ho gaa
Rahdaari mein, harey lawn mein, phoolon ke qareeb

Uss ne har simt mujhey aan ke dhoondha ho gaa
Naam bhooley se jo mera kahin aya ho gaa
Ghair mehsoos tareeqey se woh chonka ho gaa
Aik jumley ko kayi baar sunaya ho gaa

Baat kartey huey so baar woh bhoola ho gaa
Yeh jo larki nayi (new) aai hai…kahin woh to nahin?
Uss ne har chehra yahi soch ke dekha ho gaa
Jaan-e-mehfil hai magar aaj faqat merey baghair
Haaye kiss darja wohi bazm mein tanha ho gaa

Kabhi sannaton se wehshat jo hui ho gee ussey
Uss ne besakhta phir mujh ko pukaara ho gaa
Chaltey chaltey koi maanoos si aahat paa kar
Doston ko bhi kissi uzr se roka ho gaa

Yaad kar ke mujhey num ho gai hon gee palkein
Aankh mein par gaya kuch keh ke yeh tala ho gaa
Aur ghabra ke kitaabon mein jo lee ho gee panah
Har satr mein mera chehra ubher aya ho gaa

Jab mili ho gee ussey meri halaalat ki khabar
Uss ne aahista se deewar ko thama ho gaa
Ittifaqan mujhey uss shaam meri dost mili
Mein ne poocha ke ,suno,”aaiey they woh? Kaisey thay?”

USS ne aik lamhey ko dekha mujhey aur phir hans dee

Uss hansi mein to wo talkhi thi ke uss se agey

Kiya kaha uss ne..mujhey yaad nahin hai laiken…

Itna maaloom hay...

Living for humanity ...

And there are people who live, work and die for others...

Ms Otsuki's blog post gives the world a glimpse of the tireless, faceless crew who are working on the frontline to stop the nuclear crisis from escalating, risking the effects of radiation. In the most severe cases, radiation can lead to higher chances of developing cancer, or even death.
As a worker at Tepco and a member of the Fukushima No. 2 reactor team, I was dealing with the crisis at the scene until yesterday (Monday). In the midst of the tsunami alarm (last Friday), at 3am in the night when we couldn't even see where we going, we carried on working to restore the reactors from where we were, right by the sea, with the realisation that this could be certain death.

The machine that cools the reactor is just by the ocean, and it was wrecked by the tsunami. Everyone worked desperately to try and restore it. Fighting fatigue and empty stomachs, we dragged ourselves back to work.

There are many who haven't gotten in touch with their family members, but are facing the present situation and working hard.

Please remember that. I want this message to reach even just one more person. Everyone at the power plant is battling on, without running away.

To all the residents (around the plant) who have been alarmed and worried, I am truly, deeply sorry.

I am writing my name down, knowing I will be abused and hurt because of this. There are people working to protect all of you, even in exchange for their own lives.

Watching my co-workers putting their lives on the line without a second thought in this situation, I'm proud to be a member of Tepco, and a member of the team behind Fukushima No. 2 reactor.

I hope to return to the plant and work on the restoration of the reactor.

But her pleas seem to have gone unheard. The original post has now been taken down and she has instead posted an apology: 'I am very sorry, but I have locked the post as it was being used in a way I had not intended it to be.

'Having seen what's happening on the ground, my message to all of you remains the same. But others have changed the contents of the post and used it for the wrong reasons, like fanning fear amongst others, and I have therefore decided to lock my post.

'I am praying from the bottom of my heart for the safety of your loved ones. I am sorry it (the blog post) has turned out this way.'

Super Size Me ...

Movie i liked.

Several legal suits have been brought against MacDonald's Restaurants that they are knowingly selling food that is unhealthy. Some of the court decisions have stated that the plaintiffs would have a claim if they could prove that eating the food every day for every meal is dangerous. As such, documentarian Morgan Spurlock conducts an unscientific experiment using himself as the guinea pig: eat only MacDonald's for thirty days, three meals a day. If he is asked by the clerk if he would like the meal super sized, he has to say yes. And by the end of the thirty days, he will have had to have eaten every single menu item at least once. Before starting the experiment, he is tested by three doctors - a general practitioner, a cardiologist and a gastroenterologist - who pronounce his general health to be outstanding. They will also monitor him over the thirty days to ensure that he is not placing his health into irreparable damage.

Prayer of Forgiveness ...

The tears I shed, I forgive.
The suffering and disappointments, I forgive.
The betrayals and lies, I forgive.
The slandering and scheming, I forgive.
The hatred and persecution, I forgive.
The punches that were given, I forgive.
The shattered dreams, I forgive.
The dead hopes, I forgive.
The disaffection and jealousy, I forgive.
The indifference and ill will, I forgive.
The injustice in the name of justice, I forgive.
The anger and mistreatment, I forgive.
The neglect and oblivion, I forgive.
The world with all its evil, I forgive.

Grief and resentment, I replace with understanding and agreement.
Revolt, I replace with music that comes from my violin.
Pain I replace with oblivion.
Revenge, I replace with victory.

I will be able to love above all discontentment.
To give even when I am stripped of everything.
To work happily even when I find myself in the midst of all obstacles.
To dry tears even when I am still crying.
To believe even when I am discredited.

The blackbird comes to a decision

An old blackbird found a piece of bread and flew off with it. When they saw this, the younger birds pursued him in order to attack.

Confronted by imminent battle, the blackbird dropped the piece of bread into the mouth of a snake, thinking to himself:

‘When you’re old, you see things differently. I lost a meal, it’s true, but I can always find another piece of bread tomorrow.
“However, if I had hung on to it, I would have started a war in the skies; the winner would become the object of envy, the others would gang up on him, hatred would fill the hearts of birds and it could all go on for years.

“That is the wisdom of old age: knowing how to exchange immediate victories for lasting conquests.’

There is suffering in life, and there are defeats. No one can avoid them. But it's better to lose some of the battles in the struggles for your dreams than to be defeated without ever knowing what you're fighting for.

The Soul Mate

I am standing on the edge
My search has halted
Even when I thought I had faltered…

I am standing on the edge
Feeling mystified by the view
Of what is before me…

I see color
I see rain
I feel no more pain
I am sure things will never be the same…

I am standing on the edge
Seeing you for the first time
I see a bunch of fireflies…
I feel your presence
I feel your soul
I some how feel and know
Your spirit
Now I am truly present…

Now there is Clarity
Now there is    No Fear
Now there is    Time
Now there is Strength
Now there is Friendship
Now there is    True Happiness
Now there is    Unconditional Love

Now I am at peace…

I am standing on the edge
Feeling complete
Never again
Will I feel no peace
Never again
Will I feel alone

I am standing on the edge
Not looking down

I am standing on the edge
Looking straight ahead
For the first time
Seeing all of my direction stones…

Now I am given a series of visions
Difficult to believe
But it is easy all at the same time…

We are standing on the edge
Side by side

What comes to my mind,
Freedom
What comes to my hands,
Unity as one

What comes to my heart,
Strength
What comes to my soul,
Love

I am standing on the edge
Ready to be lifted
Ready to fly
Ready to give
Ready to love

I am standing on the edge
Ready
To imagine
Ready
To see the light
Ready
To just be

Free.
